I would love to see a newcomer like Ons Jabeur become the champion at the Us Open this year. Though she is considered an underdog to her opponent, the world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, she is talented enough to win with her variety in the game. Her effective placement of the serves, slides, drop shots combined with her amazing athletic movement around the court are her weapons to win this game. She surely will improve her mentality on how to win in the championship match by learning from her previous mistakes in the final match at Wimbledon 2022 where she lost to Elena Rybakina. On the speedy hard court in New York, she will have a good chance to win over Swiatek who showed a shaky, not so sharp performance on this surface in a couple of matches leading to the final on Saturday. I chose Ons as the champion.
