The Happy Slam Women’s Final

Here's your pick

The Australian Open women’s final is set to square off on Saturday, January 28 at 7:30 pm in Melbourne or in the early morning at 3:30 am. (EST)in the US. The clash between these two big hitters, Rybakina and Sabalenka, should be a thrilling game to watch. Rybakina, the 23 year old world #22 and the Wimbledon Champion last year, cruised through the final in such a terrific performance. She beat Collins, the runner up last year in round 3, Swiatek, the world# 1 and 3 times Grand slams champion in round 4, Ostapenko, the French Open champion in the quarter finals, and Azarenka, the 2 times AO champion in the semi finals. On the other hand, Sabalenka, world #5, has defeated Rybakina in all their previous three meetings and swept past the early rounds in straight sets with her aggressive style as a weapon. Both of them have leading scores of aces among women players but have quite contrast personalities. Rybakina, the younger of the two, is calm, cool and collected while Sabalenka is loud and never hides her emotions during the games. As the Wimbledon champion last year, Rybakina did not get the points due to the Russian ban issue so she really needs to win another one to up her ranking to be in the top10. Sabalenka, on the other hand, is in the top 10 for a long time and never won a slam despite reaching 3 grand slams semi finals so she is so eager for the success of winning this year.

To be precise, they both deserved to be the champion this year but unfortunately there is only one champion so I will give Rybakina better credit for being the one.

Prediction: Rybakina wins in 3
